Before You Start

You’ll need:

  • Your watch
  • Your Anchor strap
  • A spring bar tool
  • A clean towel or soft surface

Always confirm both spring bars are fully seated before wearing your watch.

Step-by-step section

Example:

Step 1 — Remove your current strap/bracelet

Place your watch face down on a soft surface. Use a spring bar tool to compress the spring bar and remove the existing strap.

Step 2 — Install the spring bars on your watch

Using your spring bar tool, re-install the spring bars in the watch. Make sure that the spring bars are engaged into each lug hole before proceeded. Some watches have lug holes very close to the case (Rolex Explorer I) and will require that the spring bars are installed after the strap is in place to prevent damage to the strap material.

Step 3 — Install the strap from the 12 O'Clock position first

begin feeding the strap between the spring bar and the case starting at the 12 O'clock position. Ensure that the logo side of the MonoPass clasp is facing up (same side as watch face). Then feed it through the 6 O'clock side.

Step 4 — Position the clasp.

Once the watch is installed securely on the strap, you should roughly size it to your wrist and remember the notch position that feels right. Then reposition the clasp so that it is flat and directly opposite the watch.

Step 5 — Check the fit

Before wearing, gently tug each side of the strap to confirm the spring bars are fully seated. The body of the clasp should be centered on the underside of your wrist with the Anchor Logo slightly toward the thumb-side.

Troubleshooting section

This is where written content really helps.

Examples:

The clasp feels backwards

Check that the clasp side is installed at 12 o’clock and the longer notched side is installed at 6 o’clock.

The strap feels too tight

Move the clasp to the next looser hole. The strap should feel secure but not compressed against your wrist. The MonoPass design is meant to be worn slightly looser than a typical strap but not so loose that you are able to spin the watch to the underside of your wrist.

The spring bar will not click in

Remove the strap and check that the spring bar is aligned with the lug holes before applying pressure. Spring bar tips and lug holes come in different sizes so ensure that you have the correct size spring bar tips for your watch.

The clasp is digging into my skin

This can be caused by two things: either the strap is slightly too tight, or it is in the incorrect position on the wrist.
